This incident took place in the year 1982. Dada went to the house of a new mahatma for the first time. Few old mahatmas also accompanied him. There was a 75 year-old man in the house who was follower of Lord Swaminarayan.
As soon as Dada entered the room, all mahatmas started chanting “Dada Bhagwan na Asim Jai Jaikar Ho”. At this instance the old man in the house got irritated. He arrogantly questioned Dada, “Why are you calling yourself a Bhagwan (God)? Why are you chanting for your own praise?” He spoke in all sorts of ill manner.
Dada was calm as ever. The moment Dada's kirtan-bhakti (prayer) was over, Dada promptly started chanting "Swami Narayan Bhagwan na Asim Jai Jaikar Ho". Since Dadashri began chanting, all the mahatmas naturally followed! Gradually chanting of “Swami Narayan Bhagwan na Asim Jai jaikar Ho" filled the environment with positive vibration. The old man suddenly turned joyous. He became emotional and fell at Dada's feet and cried in appreciation.
