Seva is an act of service rendered to others without any selfish motive.
The mango tree never eats its own fruits. All of its fruits, wood and leaves are used for the welfare of others. Similarly, seva or helping others mean utilizing our mind, speech and conduct for others. Our own happiness begins from the very moment we give anything to others.
True religion begins with having an obliging nature. To oblige others is not limited to donating money or doing charity work. Even if you get someone’s work done, run errands for others or have two sets of clothes stitched for a less fortunate person, it’s considered as a service.
Param Pujya Dadashri says that the children who serve their parents will never face a shortage of money and they will receive all that they require in life. And the one who serves a Self-realized Guru will attain liberation!
